CRICKET WEEK 2017

CRICKET WEEK 2017 is just around the corner. Sides are almost all selected and players should be informed by tomorrow night (Monday).

Here is the essential run down of all you should know.

Saturday 22nd July we kick off Cricket Week in the only way possible…..with a Party Night.

No ordinary party night of course, if you are going to have one you have to have the greatest Party Band in Essex playing and of course we have that in 6 String Makeover. That’s not all, we also have a Curry Supper.

If you haven’t already booked your tickets from your age group manager or team captain then please email/text me to order. They are priced at £15 for Adults and £5 for Under 18’s/Students and include your Curry Supper (Vegetarian Curry available too). This is the only ticketed event of Cricket Week.

Next up is Monday 24th July. All day at Drapers is a 3-way T20 tournament featuring two teams from the club and a Plume School team. The day’s victors collect the David Randall Cup

The evening entertainment is provided by ‘Crazy G’ all the way from Spain. A bit of Comedy, A bit of Singing and of course a bit of Karaoke.

Tuesday 25th July is Colts Day. Under 9’s play at 10am, Under 11’s at 12.30, Under 13’s/15’s at 3pm and then at 5.30pm it’s the Maldon CC Young Guns v Maldon Rugby Club for the James Quartermaine Cup.

The evening’s entertainment is Live Music once again from another great band – AnnXerZ (featuring Jake Collins). Also on Tuesday evening you can feast from our Aussie BBQ with head chef Alec Baldwin. Prawns and Kangaroo burgers are amongst the food on offer.

Wednesday 26th July sees a Maldon team play their traditional annual all day game v Hadleigh & Thundersley. The evenings entertainment is in the form of a Quiz Night. Teams can be formed beforehand or on the night.

Thursday 27th July is another all day game. This time Maldon CC take on Heybridge Social.

Cricket Week concludes on Friday 28th July with Maldon vets taking on a League over 60’s side.
