Maldon CC Race Night

As a way of keeping in touch with each other and having a bit of fun at the same time, we have decided to host a Zoom Race Night on Saturday 2 nd May 2020 at 7.30pm, with the first race at 7.40pm, to raise much needed funds for Drapers Farm Sports Club. Without the rugby and cricket seasons taking place they are in real trouble of losing a considerable amount of money, that will in the end effect both the rugby and cricket clubs.

There will be 8 races throughout the 1.5 hour session with each race stake at £2. You can have as many people playing from each household as you like but one bet is per person or per family. The races are actual races from the 1990s and can be shared using Zoom. Each race will consist of 8 horses with half of the tote being shared with the winning bets placed. I will need you to let me know what number horse you are betting on prior to the evening.

Each race can be sponsored for £20 so if you know anyone or any company that would like to sponsor a race let me know. The sponsor can name the race.

Each horse in the race can be owned with the winning horse’s owner receiving a prize. If a horse is owned the owner can name the horse as well! Keep it clean, ish!

Each horse costs £10 to own.

Each horse must have a jockey too. The winning Jockey also receives a prize. Each jockey costs £5 and if you have a jockey that wins you also receive a prize.

If you would like to take part please email me the attached form and I will organise all of the information prior to the first race so the evening runs smoothly. I will also need you to send me your total money placed including if you have named a race, bought a horse or if you have named a jockey, prior to the evening. I will then keep a log of who has won what and deposit your winnings back to you within a week of the races.

I will send out the Zoom codes to those who email me back the forms. I will also send my bank details to you when you send the form back Look forward to racing with you all, having a bit of fun and raising some money for Drapers. Upminster Cricket Club just raised 5K from their recent online race night. Not sure we’ll get that but any money raised for Drapers is better than none.
