Opening Day of the Season

As you wake up this morning you will be no doubt as fed up as I am that you’re not packing your bag up,having your pre match brekkie and warming up those hamstrings. Today should have been the first day of the new season fellow Dons and we would all be meeting up with team mates new and old and even older in some cases at Drapers to shake hands,share car journeys and head off to play.

Worlington at home,Elmstead away, Copford (and that tree )away and West Mersea away were to be the opening fixtures. We will all miss the sound of ball on willow but I want you all to join in with me at 1pm and take a reflective picture of yourself visualising your innings or walking in or bowling or in your fielding positions. Post it on facebook, instagram or twitter and I’ll give away a bottle of wine to the best one as judged by me.

We will get out there soon Dons and as a committee we are certainly planning for this hopeful eventuality. Our sport will survive and we will soon be in the bar drinking again soon.

We WILL meet again.
