First Cricket of the Season

Following the latest ECB guidelines we can announce that from Saturday 23/5, between hours of 11am and 6 pm, a net will be made available to members using the cage on the main square. These sessions will be for people book and use the nets in pairs.

The club is open to adding more days of the week and dates provided that uptake is high this weekend, and once a full review of Saturday's procedures has been completed.

There are a lot of rules which can be seen pictorially on the attached poster and must be strictly adhered to:

-At this stage the nets will be opening to adult playing members, or any under 15 who is accompanied by either a parent/carer or another member of their own household.

-The club is currently discussing Colt Age Group training, but due to current guidelines we feel as though it is not possible. We hope to provide further information on this issue next week.

- Social distancing rules will be in strict operation and will commence from car park to nets.

- Sessions will be 45 minutes with 15 minutes to sanitise stumps at the end.

- Players must use their own equipment will be used at all times. The club will provide the spring back stumps.

- One ball is to be used and there is to be no saliva used on this ball.

- A club rep will be on hand at all times to ensure rules are followed

- Sanitizer will be made available but it is advised to bring your own

- Sessions can be booked only on a first come first served basis by emailing Brownie on truffles40@hotmail.co.uk up to this Friday night at 9pm.

- Sessions will be advertised on all Maldon Cricket Club social media pages to allow fairness and stop conflicts of appointments.

The club will be asking for a contribution of £6 per pair for the usage of the nets to cover costs and insurance for those who are able to play. This may be refundable on the resumption of any cricket this season.

We notice that some other local clubs are asking for payment of full membership for this facility, but we do not wish to do this.

We are happy to discuss this further with any members on a one to one basis if you have any queries or questions.
